The Centerboard Guest House Bed and Breakfast, a truly original island boutique inn, is located on scenic, historic Nantucket Island, 26 miles off Hyannis on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Chief among Nantucket’s many attractions are more than 50 miles of natural, undeveloped beaches, breath-taking sunsets, cobblestone streets, top-shelf boutiques, galleries galore, and ancient windmills and lighthouses. The Centerboard Bed & Breakfast, a magnificently restored 1886 former whaling captain’s home, is ideally located for your stay in Nantucket Town. Just a few blocks removed from the bustling town center, we are in the heart of Nantucket’s Historic District at the foot of legendary Cliff Road, just a short stroll or bike ride away from ferries, shops, galleries, raw bars, museums, shuttle buses, restaurants and several beaches. The house was completely remodeled recently to introduce some pleasing contemporary touches while still reflecting the lofty, airy and antique architectural charm of the Late Victorian era. We have many antiques tastefully appointing each of our seven bedrooms and our public rooms. All guest rooms and baths have been updated to incorporate many pleasing contemporary touches without compromising the fraqgile period charm of this antique gem of an inn.
In recent years the Centerboard B & B has been several times voted the Best Bed & Breakfast on Nantucket by the readers of the Nantucket Island’s leading newspaper, the Inquirer and Mirror. And, every year since 1997, Cape Cod Life has awarded the Centerboard either Gold (1st Place) or Silver (2nd Place) as the 'Best Bed and Breakfast Inn' on Nantucket in their annual sell-out, the "Best of Cape Cod and the Islands" issue.
